2020 GLOBAL 24 HOUR RELAY
Pass the baton.
Welcome to the 2020 Global 24 Hour Relay. On June 3rd, 2020, be a part of a relay race with runners all over the world. Your team will be running from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM and virtually handing off the baton to the next runner every 30 minutes. All runners will receive a medal and t-shirt which will be mailed out at the end of June.
When it's your turn, you'll receive a message from your teammate who just finished, run or walk your leg, and send a message to the next runner on your team to start their turn.
We may not be able to all get together to race, but that doesn't mean you have to run alone.

FIND YOUR TEAM
Use the link below to find your team for the Global 24 Hour Relay. Each team will have 48 spots (48 - 30 minute blocks of time in a day). Choose your team based on location, running group, or start your own by emailing us.
1. RECEIVE THE BATON
You will receive a text message, phone call or email telling you it's time to start your leg of the relay.
2. RUN YOUR LEG
Run/jog/walk for 30 minutes. You can do this inside, outside, on the road or on a trail. Wherever you like to run, do it for 30 minutes!
3. PASS THE BATON
Send a text message, phone call or email to pass the baton telling your next teammate that it's their turn to run!

HOW DOES THIS WORK?
You will pick a team and sign up for a 30-minute time slot to run. At the beginning of your time, you will receive a text message, email, or phone call from your teammate who ran before you and they will "hand off the baton". After you run/jog/walk/etc. you will then send a message to the next runner on your team and continue to pass the baton.
WHAT TEAM DO I SIGN UP FOR?
It's up to you! You can browse our list of available teams and choose one based on city, running club, or local running store! If you want to start a custom team, please email global24hourrelay@gmail.com
WHAT DO I GET FOR PARTICIPATING?
Other than a sense of community, camaraderie, and cooperation? All runners will receive a medal and t-shirt mailed to them after the relay! You'll also be entered into a raffle for gear from Garmin, Maurten, Goodr, and Trigger Point!
HOW WILL I KNOW WHO TO PASS THE BATON TO?
You will receive a text or email from us with the contact information for the runner who comes after you on your team. This will tell you how they prefer to receive the baton. You can say something like "Hey Linda, you're up! Have fun out there and happy Global Running Day!"
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The relay costs $30 to run, but we wanted to discount the early morning slots that may be less desirable to run. Those one's are $25. That way there's a little incentive to run at 3:00 AM as opposed to 3:00 PM.
DO I HAVE TO RUN ALONE?
We are going to leave that up to you. However we will ask you to please follow all guidelines as directed by your local, state, and federal governments. You know what they are, please be safe!
CAN I SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN ONE TIME SLOT?
For each team, runners can only sign up for one slot. That way we can have more runners participating in this community event!
I DIDN'T RECEIVE A TEXT OR EMAIL, AND IT'S MY TIME TO RUN! WHAT SHOULD I DO?
That's okay! You probably didn't receive one due to human error or technology issues, but you should still run your leg and pass the baton on to the next person!
WHEN WILL I GET MY T-SHIRT AND MEDAL?
T-shirts and medals will be mailed out in the last week of June. Make sure that the address that you sign up with is where you want it shipped!
IS THIS A COMPETITION? WHAT IF MY TEAM RUNS THE MOST MILEAGE?
Nope, this is just for fun! We will not be collecting submissions of mileage this year. Due to the complexity of the event, we wanted it to be just a fun community virtual relay. It is something we're thinking about in the future!
WHO WILL BE ON MY TEAM?
It could be anyone! Share the run with your friends and they can join, or it could be a stranger from around the world! You could be handing off the baton to anyone, and anywhere.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
Sorry, but because of the complexity of the event we can't offer any refunds on sign ups.
